Lobby Ambassador

Department: Front Office FLSA Designation: Nonexempt Reports to: Front Office Manager

Compensation: Hourly $19.64 USD

Job Overview:

Ensure a friendly greeting to all guests within the lobby and provide exceptional service for an unforgettable experience.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Greet customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome. Remain calm and attentive, especially during heavy hotel activity and emergencies.
  • Listen and respond to guest inquiries using a positive, clear speaking voice. Answer questions and offer assistance giving accurate information regarding hotel and amenities.
  • Willing to take ownership of all guest requests and complaints, try to resolve issues immediately and follow up to ensure the guests satisfaction.
  • Provide excellent service consistent with the hotels standards operating procedures and brand attributes.
  • Observe and maintain health and safety standards.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces and shared objects each time they are used.
  • Take drink orders from customers accurately and with a positive attitude.
  • Prepare and serve coffee and tea drinks.
  • Properly handle and maintain all equipment’s.
  • Serve customers quickly and efficiently.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces and shared objects each time they are used. For example: Handrails, slides, lounge chairs, tabletops, chairs, door handles and surfaces of restrooms, handwashing stations and showers.
  • Thoroughly clean and polish all metal surfaces, applying pressure in repeated motion.
  • Clean ashtrays and empty trash.
  • Report all suspicious persons or activities, hazardous conditions, etc. to Safety/Security Department.
  • Performs other hotel duties as assigned by Manager.

    Specific Job Knowledge and Skills:

  • Passion for guest service
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally in English.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information.
  • Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages, boxes and luggage up to 50 lbs. continuously throughout shift.

  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. This includes nights, weekends and/or holidays.
  • All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
  • Employee is always required to take on the responsibility and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as determined by position and duties.
  • Complies with health and safety rules, regulations and procedures to maintain a safe environment.

    Qualifications:

    Education:

    Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge of skills and abilities.
